Stumped for a daily track, where is my mind anyway?

brains!

Ok, I admit it, I was stumped for a track today (thus my tardiness past my normal post time). But in a clutch musical situation, it’s hard to go wrong with the Pixies. I contemplated lying and claiming this was a follow up to yesterday’s soundtrack post, but, meh. This was prominently featured in Fight Club though so while the motivation for posting it would have been a lie, its existence on a soundtrack is fact.

P.S. Also included is a special bonus track with Black Francis being forced to explain a joke.

Inglourious Cats

SAN SEBASTIAN, SPAIN - SEPTEMBER 18: U.S dire...

There’s a song toward the end of Inglourious Bastards that was a) good and b) irritatingly familiar. I finally tracked it down (thanks IMDB) and bring it to you. Here. Now. Enjoy! Interestingly enough, the song originally comes from another movie, Cat People.

Also, per the tweet on Sunday, I enjoyed the movie. I did go in with low expectations. I’d been a fan of Tarantino for some time, but after The Car Guy That Couldn’t Die Until He Did or whatever his crap contribution to the Grindhouse project was, I’m was a little less enthusiastic. Kinda like I feel about Diablo Cody after Jennifer’s Body (and Toni Collete is Crazy on HBO).

Why is it so dark all of a sudden?!

Alright, I’m used to losing daylight in the morning before work (and eventually any daylight after work), but usually, it’s a slow progression. Seems like this morning was considerably darker than yesterday morning. Happy autumn I guess.

Pela says “Thank you, and good night…”

For those of you who might be fans of Pela, I have grim news. They are no more. For those of you who hadn’t heard of the Brooklyn based band, check out the tune and share my disappointment.
