Original Sega Dreamcast Console For Sold

Ok, ThinkGeek.com managed to find “new in box” Dreamcast consoles and were selling them briefly. I’m not sure which of the following is most amazing:
1) Somewhere there was a large stash of new, never used or opened Sega Dreamcast consoles
2) ThinkGeek priced them at $99.99
3) They sold out

Jimmy Fallon Loves Palm’s Pre

So, I’m not sure I’m sold on Jimmy as a late night talk show host (at least it’s not Chris Katan). Last night’s Palm Pre feature makes me think maybe he’s ok. Afterall, Conan had a rough start and turned out ok.

Anyway… this is a remake of sorts of an interview the two did at CES, but it’s still fun to see the Pre get some mainstream love. I don’t have the link for th other video handy, but if you care, just search for Jimmy Fallon, Engadget, Palm Pre, and CES and it should be easy enough to track down.

**UPDATE** Zemeta found it for me so see the related links below.

WebOS Skin for your Treo or Centro – Give your PalmOS device a WebOS-style wave launcher and card interface with TealOS

Can’t wait for the Pre? Don’t want to pony up for a new phone when it does come out? Don’t like Sprint? Have a Treo or Centro already? Turn your Treo or Centro into a Pre with TealPoint Software’s TealOS.

It actually looks pretty slick and encorporates a fair number of the WebOS features like cards, the slide up launcher (although the Treos/Centros have hard keys for most of that anyway), and the app launcher drawer.

Since PalmOS doesn’t really support multi tasking, when you flip between cards you’re actually shutting down one app and starting a new one. Still fun though.

You can try it for free or buy it for $14.95

Fist Shaped Massager?!

Uh… I’ll just let the DeepDiscount.com description say it all:

Give yourself a little pat on the back, literally! This fist-shaped vibrating massager features an angled design that makes it easy to scratch those hard-to-reach itches. Uses 3 D batteries (not included). Extends to 9 long.

If your mind didn’t already go to a dark place, re-read the quote above without the first sentence.

Reminds me of when I worked as a temp for Fingerhut taking incoming orders on the overnight shift. A guy called up looking for a massage device. His was too small. He was looking for one about the size of his fist. After about a minute of vague information and dawning horror, it became apparent what he wanted the device for. I suggested he call back during normal business hours so a personal shopping assistant could be of better assistance.

Night Vision for $50

Night Vision for $50

Awesome! Target has the “kids’” night vision “toy” for $50 this week. According to reviews around the net, it’s actually pretty decent at the full retail of $90.

Hurry hurry hurry. The deal only runs until the Black Friday madness begins.

When You Don’t Care Enough to Give the Very Best

iPod Touch Clone

iPod Touch Clone

I feel a little bad picking on ComputerGeeks.com, but they do have some odd stuff.

For instance, this iPod Touch clone is a comparative steal at $70 for the 4GB model or $55 for the 2GB model.

Neither have wi-fi, or the ability to run Apple App Store applications obviously, but they do have a [undoubtedly crappy] camera and are expandable via Micro-SD memory.

TV Dorks Gain Equality with Computer Geeks (at Dominos)

TiVo doesn't mind you've let yourself go

TiVo doesn't mind you've let yourself go

For years, the computer geek has been able to order a pizza w/o actually moving away from the computer, now the TV dork can enjoy similar luxury by ordering pizza through their TiVo. Now you can order by phone, SMS, internet, and TiVo. Next, ordering by casually thinking about pizza.

The [Lame] Future is NOW!

Bluetooth Headset Watch

Bluetooth Headset Watch

It’s a little bit Dick Tracey, a little bit early James Bond tech, and more than a little strange. I suppose it’s clever to merge your watch and bluetooth headset. But
  1. It’s kinda fugly as a watch
  2. Having the watch display on while in your ear is kinda cheezy

A huge plus though, is the folks who always *KNEW* the bluetooth headset is an awesome fashion accessory and insist on wearing them at all times can be slightly less wrong now.
