Wondermark is a generally solid web comic, and the surprise ending is a bit of specialty (like M. Night Shyamalan, except entertaining). But this strip really steps it up, you must, must MUST, click the pic to follow through to the full strip. MUST!!!

You ever have the experience where something is technically ha-ha funny, but you don’t actually laugh? It may well be a well crafted, clever joke; you may find yourself obliged to acknowledge it as such. But for some reason it doesn’t actually elicit the elusive LOL.

Xkcd strikes again, this time with a new twist on an old urban legend.

Although I’m not a huge fan of the design of this t-shirt, I do very much agree with the sentiment. I’ll even admit I could use a sip from the fountain of smart from time to time, particularly on a Monday morning.

I do find myself wondering what the series of events would be that leads to Rain Man being shot at by Dirty Harry.

There, I Fixed It has an advent calendar even Bad Santa could appreciate.

As xkcd points out in the strip below (and I can agree with based on my 12/22 birthday), folks born on or around Christmas can miss out on some of the attention they might otherwise get on their birthday.

On the other hand, there are some perks too. For instance, I only had to go to school on my birthday once as a kid.

A couple cat related items came recently. Xkcd illustrates the technical complexity of making you laugh at some silly cat on the internet. The second item is a silly cat on the internet.

Were fax machines ever cool? I understand they served a purpose before the days of email and the internet, but I’m unclear as to why they even exist anymore.

I’m pretty sure I’ve seen something like this, if not this very picture before, but it’s still clever and it still makes me laugh.

So, are you a “the pie’s a third eaten” or “there’s 2/3 of the pie left to eat” kind of person?

Although the pie doesn’t look all that tasty, all this talk of pie is making me hungry…

While pretty much everyone agrees Windows 7 is the best Windows in the history of Windows (which it should be since it’s the latest, right?), Basic Instructions takes a look at why it feels so good to move to the new OS.
