Something Shiny

Rejoice for it is the eve of another holiday weekend, but first, the traffic. I’m hoping since tomorrow isn’t the actual holiday, not everyone will be fleeing for the hills (and lakes and streams, and whatever else it is that people flee to in the summer) tonight. I am cautiously optimistic.

I’ve embedded the video below to get everyone in the right frame mind. You don’t want to listen/watch though, I can guarantee you that. But how can you not, the play button taunts you… You must be strong, you must resist…

Ah, the first weekend of summer, time to kick back and relax, right after a rage inducing attempt to escape the city. If I had half a brain, I’d stick around Minneapolis and enjoy all it has to offer. But instead I’ll be sitting in mostly stop and a little go traffic this afternoon/evening.

So to those also preparing to brave the roads to get outta town, good luck. And to those of you staying put, thanks! To all, happy Memorial Day weekend.

P.S. I know this is really more of a Christmas song than Thanksgiving, but a) pretty sure ASF is British and I’m thinking they don’t care too much for our Thanksgiving and b) Thanksgiving is just a gateway holiday leading to harder, more addictive holidays anyway, so why not just skip ahead to Christmas anyway and make all the retailers happy?
