The latest installment of Basic Instructions makes me “not angry.” Click the pic for the full strip.
While pretty much everyone agrees Windows 7 is the best Windows in the history of Windows (which it should be since it’s the latest, right?), Basic Instructions takes a look at why it feels so good to move to the new OS.
1/3 to 1/2 of of the benefit of any new OS is the cleansing powers of a fresh installation.

Basic Instructions’ Scott Meyer taught me there is a third kind of funny (in addition to “haha funny” and “weird funny”). This third kind of funny, “creepy funny,” may be a subset of “weird funny,” or more specifically, “weird funny” could be broken into two categories: “politically incorrect haha funny” and “creepy funny.”
“Politically incorrect haha funny” would be anything a 2nd grader would laugh at that and adult would not be allowed to laugh at including mental impairments and extreme size aberrations (e.g. the obese, dwarfs, and obese dwarfs), among other things. “Creepy funny” is more along the lines of making lampshades out of human skin and the personality type represented in this Basic Instructions installment. Ikea is both inherently funny and kinda cool. It’s at this point that I must admit that my new found man-crush on Jonathan Coulton is based on an ad I found on Scott Meyer’s Basic Instructions site. You may recall I’d posted a cell (frame? square? whatever…) from Scott’s Ikea strip. If the WordPress what’s related plugin is worth anything, I’m sure there will be a link to it below.
In summary, Scott Meyer and Jonathan Coulton are both awesome. The end.

Having just been around the track at Ikea myself this past weekend, this rings especially true to me.
The full strip also makes a creepy point about used sofas. Click the pic, or this link for the full strip.
