Thursday Shuffle – Week 4

Ashiko
Image via Wikipedia

Ok, we’re back to Thursdays. You know the drill, 5 random songs off the MP3 player, regardless of the shame they might bring upon me. Only one couldn’t be found on Grooveshark, and to be fair, I’m not sure how I wound up with the track to begin with.

Porno for Pyros by Porno for Pyros
Bachelorette by Bjork
Wishful Beginnings by David Bowie
Better Metal Snake by Dethklok
I Keep Coming Back by The Afghan Whigs

This came up but were left out here as they were not available on Grooveshark:
Everything They Thought Was Everything by Silence the Foe

Inglourious Cats

SAN SEBASTIAN, SPAIN - SEPTEMBER 18: U.S dire...

There’s a song toward the end of Inglourious Bastards that was a) good and b) irritatingly familiar. I finally tracked it down (thanks IMDB) and bring it to you. Here. Now. Enjoy! Interestingly enough, the song originally comes from another movie, Cat People.

Also, per the tweet on Sunday, I enjoyed the movie. I did go in with low expectations. I’d been a fan of Tarantino for some time, but after The Car Guy That Couldn’t Die Until He Did or whatever his crap contribution to the Grindhouse project was, I’m was a little less enthusiastic. Kinda like I feel about Diablo Cody after Jennifer’s Body (and Toni Collete is Crazy on HBO).

Eights are great (but there aren’t many songs about them)

Number Eight
Image by Auntie P via Flickr

I apologize in advance. 8 was tough. It would appear the only significant 8 song is Eight Days a Week from The Beatles. When looking for something to serve as 8 in my counting theme, I got about a bazillion hits for that song and very little else. Since it came from their early uber-pop phase, I’m not a fan of that track. So, instead, here’s some random odd-ball track from David Bowie.

Tomorrow should be better… I won’t be posting anything from The Beatles for 9 either, so no need to stay away for fear Revolution #9 is going to get you.
