Rock-afire Explosion, uh… rocks!?

Back in December, I’d wished the animatronic robots at Chuck E. Cheese would learn Dethklok’s Dethday song. Well, I had no idea the Rock-afire Explosion existed at that time. For those of you who are as clueless about them as I was 10 minutes ago, there are some videos from YouTube below. I don’t know the back story on these guys, but they’re animatronic entertainers that perform, well, not necessarily popular music, but well, just check them out for yourself.

Thanks to Radio K’s Rock and Rollover for blowing my mind.

Thursday Shuffle – Week 3

Yeah, I know it’s not Thursday, but it’s Friday, and Friday is pretty cool so I’ll drop it if you do.

Brought to you this week for your listening enjoyment:

  1. Down in It by Nine Inch Nails
  2. William, It Was Really Nothing by The Smiths
  3. West End Girls by Pet Shop Boys
  4. Getting Better by The Beatles
  5. Strib Nicht Vor Mir by Mammstein

Songs not brought to you this week as they were not available from Grooveshark:

  1. D85 by B12
  2. Clearcut by Slot
  3. Exploder by Breadwinner

On an amusing related note, “Strib Nicht Vor Mir” translates to “Don’t Die Before Me,” “Strib” specifically translating to “Die.” Why is this amusing, if only in a sad way? The local paper here in Minneapolis is on the brink of failure as are many of the daily newspapers through the country. We used to be able to support two papers, The Star, and The Tribune. At some point, readership could only support one paper, so the two merged into the Star Tribune, and is nicknamed The Strib.

Number 9, number 9, number 9, number 9…

Number Nine

I promised no Revolution #9 and I delivered, or… failed to deliver? Didn’t deliver as promised? Successfully failed to deliver? Whatever, this isn’t it.

A few months back, Nine Inch Nails claimed they were on their last tour with Jane’s Addiction (who I coincidentally played back on “3″). I think they’ve already scheduled and played shows since they weren’t going to play anymore, but that’s not the important part, or at least the interesting part I’m trying to get to. The interesting, or at least amusing thing was the NIN/JA or NINJA name for the tour including Nine Inch Nails and Jane’s Addiction. Ok, that’s the end of my story. Alright, so it’s not that great a story and you’ve probably already heard it anyway.

Sorry.

Who’s more grim than Joy Division? Why, Nine Inch Nails of course!

Hey, look, er, uh, listen, another cover. Remember that movie, The Crow? Remember how it was pretty good? Remember the sequel? Remember how that wasn’t so good, some might even say bad?

Yeah, me too.
